Cashew Nuts are the edible seed of the Anacardium Occidentale evergreen tree native to Central and South America. They are a great source of magnesium, iron and folic acid.

Sesame seeds use dates back to 3000 BC in China they contain large amounts of polyunsaturated fats, specifically omega-3 and omega-6 oils. Sesame seeds are very high in calcium and iron. Great for growing children.

Pumpkin seeds are a very alkaline ash food, most people are very acidic: they eat meat, soda and alcohol, and not enough vegetables. Studies have shown that pumpkin seed benefit the prostate. They are also high in zinc, which is good for the immune system.

Sunflower seeds have been a staple in the vegetarian diet and are indigenous to North America. They are high in vitamin E and historically have been thought to benefit the immune system. The seeds in Jackson Whole Bar have not been ground to prevent rancidity.

Raw honey may decrease airborne allergies if harvested locally. Jackson whole Bars contain honey from Dubois Wyoming. Honey contains minerals necessary for sugar metabolism. In that alcohol is metabolized into sugar, the minerals as well as the fructose in honey hail to relieve a hangover. Lemon juice and honey soothe a sore throat.

Cranberries have been used traditionally by Native Americans to treat kidney stones and urinary tract infections. They prevent E. coli, the bacteria implicated in many UTI’s, from adhering to the bladder lining. They are very high in vitamin C.

Currants are berries and are high in antioxidants. They have less sugar than raisins.

Flax seeds are high in soluble fiber and are mucilaginous, very soothing to the digestive tract. They are rich in omega 3 oils and benefit your cholesterol profile. Flax seeds go rancid very quickly if they are ground, the seeds in this bar are in their whole form to prevent this. The beneficial oils are released when the seeds are chewed. In the event that you can’t chew every seed you still get the very beneficial mucilaginous and fiber effect.

Dates have ounce for ounce 64% more potassium than a banana. They also contain a large amount of iron, fiber and sugar.
